Though some people may find the rubber overmold a welcome change, I was specifically looking for the solid plastic original Gedore handle (I still have the old ones that do have those).The older model's one-piece shaft is what commanded the premium price (compare for example with Stahlwille drivers). This newer model has a separate, pressed on bit holder which appears to be stainless steel. The hold is slightly looser than a comparable This is my second one. The solid one-piece shaft with a strong magnet and neat engravings on the metal shaft including the model number and manufacturer are appreciated. Markings on plastic handles do eventually wear off, and stamped or engraved information is nice to have. One star off for needing a death grip for tough situations. The Hazet Trinamic handles are of a similar plastic but the triangle profile provides a superior grip. This model does not have the one piece shaft and lacks any sort of engravings for model number. Quality is inferior, despite bag label still declaring "Made in Germany".
