I purchased 3 of these knives separately - the set was just a little over what my budget could afford. But I glanced at it the other day and it was on sale- and I had to give in and get this set with the block.These knives are awesome. They are seriously VERY sharp. Both my husband and I have cut ourselves - I didn’t even know I cut myself until I felt the blood running down my hand.These are high quality, very well made, easy to hold, easy to use knives. The Santoku cuts through potatoes like butter. The Pakkawood handles are smooth and are comfortable to hold.One thing to think about is washing these knives. Because they have wood handles- I wouldn’t suggest they sit in water. I feel like the wood would ruin. So we don’t put ours in water…we just wash it, rinse quickly and make sure they dry properly.So far, the 3 knives I purchased separately over a month ago- are doing great. No problems at all. I will come back and update in a few months…good or bad.If you’re looking for a great set of knives w/ block for yourself, or to gift- this set will not disappoint. This set comes in a nice presentation box and the knives all have tip protectors, are in cardboard sheaths, in plastic bags, in a box separate from the block. The block is really nice. I like that I can see each knife (scissors and sharpener too!) and don’t have to pull each one out to find what I want. By the way- the scissors are Epic!!I’m thrilled with my purchase!I researched knife sets far longer than I should have. I'm so glad because I love this knife set more than I thought was ever possible!! I've had them for six months now and they're holding an edge wonderfully. Weight, lengths, finish everything about this set I love. By far the best bang for the buck of any set I've ever owned.Overall I like these knives. The weight and handle shape are good. The knives came very sharp but lost their edge after a few weeks of use. This isn't a nick pick since most knives lose their edge. I just don't know how fast this should happen. My two issues (nit picks) which does not affect functionality, are the edges on them seem like they were stamped instead of forged (unless I misread the item description) and the rivets on the handle stick out some. You can see very small undulations on the edge sort of when you try to cut something very hard and bend the edge. These two things detracts from an otherwise nice looking nice. I would still buy them again. I actually bought several individual knives as Christmas gifts for relatives and they loved them.Very nice knife set. Very sharp, nice weight and balance. The knife block holds the knives very nicely open sides so the air dry quickly. I would recommend to anybodyKnives arrived in perfect shape. Block looks great! Very happy with the purchase. Maybe usedI never write reviews but these knives deserve one after the near finger massacre I endured. I had my old knives for years and they were awful and dull. Took major muscle to cut into bread or an apple. Well, I decided to try out these new knives while cutting up potatoes. I am used to working my bicep to cut and my new knife slid right into the potato like cutting through nothing. Problem is.. I wasn’t prepared for such a smooth cut and took off a tip of my thumb too. Oddly enough it was so sharp I didn’t even feel it. I noticed a bloody potato and discovered what I had done. Of course then I nearly had a heart attack and my husband came running with the first aid kit. Anyways. These knives are sharp so buy them. Also, prepare for the smoothest cut and watch all fingers, toes, elbows, anything else you may end up chopping off.I was excited to get the knife set as the ones we had in our house were old and beaten up. After I'm boxing there were a few things I noticed with the knives that we're going to cause issues. One issue is the handle as the metal that the wood is attached to sticks out further than the wood handle itself making it uncomfortable to hold the knife.The other issue I have with the knife is the logo on the side of it. It's textured, and sticks to everything.Finally. The nice block itself. Upon looking at the knife block and the cracks and scuffs straight out the box. I've also noticed large amounts of yellowish sawdust coming out the bottom. And to top that off the black finish on the knife block itself appears to peel off on the knife as you pull them out.As many of the other reviews said it's a nice looking knife set to be on your counter. But in actuality, it's just a cheap knife block.I received my first Tuo knife as a gift and fell in love! When it came time to replace my everyday knives I bought this set. I’m very impressed with the fit, finish and quality. I replaced Expensive German knives with these. They come extremely sharp, sharpen easily and hold an amazing edge for a long time. These are as good or better than knives I’ve spent 4 times the amount on. Highly recommended.If you want an amazing knife set this is a MUST have. Amazing quality, craftsmanship and affordable. If you want cheap for price and quality hit up a dollar store. This knife set is priced far below the professional priced knife set but you'd be surprised at the quality and value that will last you years. The handle is heavy enough to reflect the care and attention to the motion and handling of the blade. Highly recommend this brand of knife. If unsure just buy one cheif knife amd try it out like we did..now we have this set and love it.If you need a full set of knives and a block I don't think there is anything wrong with buying this budget set. They all work great, they look fine and they don't cost a lot. Buy em.Love my new knife set, they are everything as described and look amazing ion the counter.
